The article is devoted to consideration of such concepts as "cultural industries" and "creative industries". The dynamics of the use of the concept of "creative industries" in various European countries are studied. Attention is drawn to the fact that in the normative legal acts of Ukraine the definition of the term "creative industries" has exclusively economic characteristics and does not cover the results of creative activity, as well as intellectual property. The expediency of supplementing the definition of the term "creative industries" is substantiated.
