Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences
The history of the department is inextricably linked with the history of the Nikopol Faculty (see link). During its existence, the department has trained more than one hundred specialists who successfully work at enterprises of the mining and metallurgical complex in the cities of Nikopol, Marganets, Pokrov, Dnipro, as well as in other cities, including far beyond the borders of Ukraine.
Among the traditional partners of the Nikopol faculty and its departments are the largest enterprises of the Nikopol region, such as the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, a number of pipe industry enterprises (Interpipe, Centravis, Titan-Ukraine, Trubostal and many others), Pokrovsky and Marganets Mining and Processing Plant. The university has concluded cooperation agreements with these enterprises, which provide for mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas related to the training of qualified specialists.
The human resources potential of the department allows for the training of qualified specialists in modern educational programs that are in demand in the modern labor market - both regional and European. The department provides teaching of a number of mandatory and elective components of educational programs in engineering areas (G10 Metallurgy, etc.).
The department's teachers use modern technical means and teaching methods in the educational process (including distance learning). Almost all disciplines taught by the department are provided with methodological developments, textbooks and literature in electronic (digital) format.
The department has created a project group for the development of relevant educational programs, which involves leading specialists from large commercial and government structures. The department's immediate plans include the launch and accreditation of 1-2 educational programs in areas that are in great demand in the modern labor market and will have a certain "demand" from both potential applicants and employers.
