THE 100th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF PROFESSOR E.M. GOLDFARB
У 2024 році виповнюється 100 років з дати народження відомого теплотехніка, талановитого вченого та одного із засновників наукової школи металургійної теплофізики та теорії печей ДМетІ Еміля Михайловича Гольдфарба.
Еміль Михайлович народився в м. Новомосковську Дніпропетровської області у родині службовців. Батько помер дуже рано – в 1924 році, тому виховувала його мати, Етель Веніамінівна. Після відмінного закінчення школи в 1940 році юнак з першої спроби вступив до 1 курсу Харківського авіаційного інституту, де були закладені перші ази, що сприяли подальшому науковому росту майбутнього вченого.
Проте навчання довелося перервати у зв’язку із наступом фашистських загарбників та окупацією Дніпропетровщини під час другої світової війни. В осені 1941 року родина Гольдфарбів евакуюється: сам Еміль – на Урал у м. Свердловськ (нині Єкатеринбург), а його мати – у м. Маргілан (Узбецька ССР). У Свердловську Еміль Михайлович йде на військовий завод, де працює з 1941 по 1944 рік наладчиком револьверних станків. В 1944 році Еміль вступає на 2 курс Уральського індустріального інституту.
Після закінчення війни, родина Гольдфарбів повернулася в Новомосковськ, а Е.М. Гольдфарб поступив на роботу в Дніпропетровський металургійний інститут, де незабаром захистив кандидатську, а потім і докторську дисертацію та отримав звання професора.
Внесок Еміля Михайловича Гольдфарба в розвиток Дніпропетровської школи металургійної теплотехніки важко переоцінити. Розроблений ним груповий метод об'єднаного рішення крайових завдань у теорії теплопровідності став класичним та увійшов до низки підручників з тепло- і масообміну, довідників і іншої наукової літератури. Запропонований професором Гольдфарбом метод миттєвого регулярного режиму дозволив вирішити цілий клас завдань, відомих під назвою проблеми Стефана.
Монографія Е.М. Гольдфарба з металургійної теплофізики – «Теплофізика металургійних процесів» (1967), стала згодом основою для створення нової навчальної дисципліни «Теплофізика металургійних процесів» та дала поштовх відкриттю нової спеціальності на кафедрі печей – «Теплофізика».

1st Erasmus+ International Metallurgical Staff Week
The event occurred from September 23-27, 2024, at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, with participants from three Ukrainian universities: Dnipro University of Technology, Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, and Zaporizhzhya National University. The event opened with a welcome from Prof. Tobias Fieback and a brief history of TU Freiberg by Dr. Michael Hauser. The participants also had the chance to network over coffee with the Erasmus coordinator Anja Weigl, and tour the Institute of Iron and Steel Technology. In the remaining days, Erasmus+ funding opportunities for Ukraine were presented by Michaela Lanaro (DAAD German Academic Exchange Service), presentations from the Ukrainian universities, and a visit to the Institute of Ceramics, Refractories, and Composite Materials. The week also featured a scientific writing workshop by Matheus Roberto Bellé, and a lecture on steel industry decarbonization by Prof. Olena Volkova. The attendees experienced the local culture, including a traditional bratwurst barbecue with draught beer as well as visits to the cultural and natural landmarks of Saxony, in the Saxon Switzerland. The week was a great opportunity to network with staff members from partner universities and promote future collaborations.

The textbook was written with the collectives of tutors of department of international economy and social-humanitarian disciplines of SSI "Institute of industrial and business of technologies" of the Ukrainian state university of science and technologies, National technical university "Dnepr poly-technique", University of custom business and finances, and also by the scientists of GO “Institute for economics and forecasting of the NAS of Ukraine”.
By the textbook were opened series of education-academic editions of "ACADEMY AND EDUCATION".
