Education, Scientific Degrees and Academic Status

1969-1974 Dnipropetrovs’k Metallurgical Institute, Major in «Ferrous Metallurgy»;

1980 - Candidate of Engineering Sciences (equal to PhD). The title of research is «Research and implementation of wheel steel-making practice within electric-arc furnaces»;

1988 - Academic status of Associate Professor at the Department of Electrometallurgy;

1999 -  Doctor of Engineering Sciences (doctor habilitat). The title of research is «The development of efficient wheel steel-making practice while applying secondary metal treatment and special electrometallurgical methods»;

2003 - Academic status of Professor at the Department of Electrometallurgy.

Scientific Research

The main research focus areas are fundamentals of processes of metal structure modification and management of secondary phase formation; thermodynamic and kinetic research on crystallization in electrical-smelting processes; the physical and chemical and thermodynamic analysis of slag solutions used for wheel steel desulfurization. Has published over 300, including 25 copyright certificates and patents of Ukraine and Russia, 5 monographs, 8 educational manuals. The Principal of Academic Senate D08.084.02 responsible for authorizing and issuing Doctoral and Candidate degrees. Has been awarded as the winner of the State premium of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. Has been awarded with the title of “Honoured research fellow in the field of science and technology of Ukraine”.

Professional Experience

1974 – 1975 – Research and Development Engineer at the Department of Electrometallurgy of Dnipropetrovs’k Metallurgical Institute.

1975 – 1978 – post-graduate student at Dnipropetrovs’k Metallurgical Institute.

1978 – 1989 – junior research fellow, senior research fellow, R&D assistant, Associate Professor of the Department of Electrometallurgy.

1989 – 1992 – doctoral student at Dnipropetrovs’k Metallurgical Institute.

1992 – 2001 – Professor of National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine.

2001 – to the present – Vice Rector of National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine responsible for Scientific Research.
