  •  Monograph "Elektrotermy of silicon" by the authors M.IGasik, M.MGasik dedicated to the memory of Academician foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences N.P. Lyakishev. The paper summarizes and analyzes data on the properties of silicon, physical-chemical interactions in the silicon-oxygen, silica polymorphism and characteristics of quartz and quartzite. Physical and chemical properties of SiC and technology of silicon carbide are described. The issues of thermodynamic modeling of the phases in the systems Si-O-C and Si-O-C-H are discussed. Data about the properties of carbon reducing agents for silicon production are analysed together with ore-reducing silicon smelting plant parameters. The data on the properties of furnace slag and flue dust siliceous melt silicon. Different technology schemes and equipment for silicon production is considered together with material and energy balances of the processes. Methods of production of chlorsilanes, poly- and multicrystalline silicon for electronics and solar energy, purification of quartz raw materials and silicon towards solar silicon grade are briefly described.

  • In the textbook "Structural parameters of coal and metallurgical characteristics of carbon reductants for ferroalloy production," the authors V.LZubov, M.IGasik, A.NOvcharuk shows the general characteristics, genetic group and petrographic characteristics of fossil coal, structural and molecular evolution of coal during metamorphism.Analyzed the results of X-ray diffraction studies of carbon reductants. The data of long-term scientific and industrial research technology of smelting ferrosilicon grades FS45...FS65 using non-traditional types of carbon reductants. The manual is recommended for university professors, graduate students who specialize in the field of metallurgical technology, electrometallurgy ferroalloys.
