General Information
The Theory and Practice of Metallurgy is the oldest scientific professional edition of the metallurgical industry of Ukraine, which began to be published since 1928 and has been continuously published since 1997 and up to the present.
The magazine is founded by the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Ukraine and the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine, which has for over a hundred years the image of a smithy staff and a research center of metallurgical science. Through doctoral and postgraduate studies, hundreds of specialists have been awarded degrees and degrees in the metallurgical field.
Throughout all the years of publishing the journal, there have been and are such world-renowned scientists as academicians and corresponding members of the NASU OP Chekmaryov, KF Starodubov, MI Gasik, OG Velichko, B. M.Boychenko
At present, the editorial board of the journal is known by reputable experts - 15 doctors of technical sciences, professors.
The magazine is designed for a wide range of readers (scientists, specialists) in the field of metallurgical production of pig iron, steel, ferroalloys and non-ferrous metals, theoretical foundations for the production of metals and alloys and the development of process mechanisms, involvement in the production of materials of technogenic origin, rolling production, perfection and creation of known materials qualitatively new, researches in the field of expansion of coal raw materials base of coking, mathematical modeling of technological processes, improvement of machines for metallurgical yrobnytstva and reliability of metallurgical equipment.

The editor-in-chief of the journal is Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of NMetAU Proydak YS, Deputy Editor-in-Chief - Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences LV Kamkina.
The editorial board consists of eminent domestic and foreign scientists consisting of 15 doctors of sciences.
The editorial board includes foreign scientists from Kazakhstan, Germany, and Poland.
All articles published in the journal are reviewed by leading experts in the respective fields, as well as scientific, general and technical editorial staff.
The editorial staff includes the secretary and the specialist in technical editing, and the correction of the manuscripts (the responsible person of the editorial board).
The magazine is published in the number of six issues per year, quarterly, with a circulation of 100… 150 copies, with a volume of ~ 80-100 printed sheets.
The magazine is published regularly, according to the set schedule.

In order to present the articles published in the journal to a wide range of readers, the Institute has undertaken work on digitizing the journal archive and publishing full text electronic versions of articles of all these issues of the journal on the Internet with free access to them on the Google-Scholar site.
