Energy Audit Course

From February 3 to February 20, 2020, the course of advanced training in energy audit was taught to another group of trainees at NMetAU. This time, the training course was held under the updated program “Energy Audit. Work with the Energy Efficiency Fund” with the support of the German Government and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The course was developed on the basis of latest European experience, with the participation of leading Ukrainian and foreign experts in energy audit. Experienced trainers from Department of Energy Systems and Energy Management of NMetAU, representatives of the Energy Efficiency Fund and regional consultants of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) were involved in the teaching.

The course program included lectures and practical classes, which concidered issues of energy efficiency of buildings, the use of measuring instruments, methods and features of energy audits and energy certification of buildings, taking into account the requirements of current legislation. In addition, course participants under the guidance of an experienced practicing auditor could in practice conduct an energy survey of a real residential building, perform the necessary calculations and generate an energy certificate to determine the energy efficiency class of this facility. A separate block of classes included topics that address the specifics of the Energy Efficiency Fund and the specifics of the work of energy auditors with the association of co-owners of apartment buildings.

At the end of the course, a final test was conducted, according to the results of which all students received certificates of successful completion of the course based on the materials of the GIZ project “Support to the National Energy Efficiency Fund and the Environmental Reform Program (S21) in Ukraine” and certificate of advanced training by NMetAU.
