The history of the Sub-faculty of Theory, technology and automation of metallurgical processes (TTAMP) is inextricably linked with the history of the Nikopol Faculty. During its existence, the department has trained more than a hundred specialists who successfully work at the enterprises of the mining and metallurgical complex in cities Nikopol, Marganets, Pokrov, Dnipro as well as in other cities, including in far beyond Ukraine.

Traditional partners of the Nikopol Faculty of NMetAU, which is the main "bridgehead" for TTAMP Sub-faculty, are the largest enterprises of the Nikopol region: Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, a number of pipe industry enterprises (Interpipe, Centravis, Titan-Ukraine, Trubostal and many others), mining and processing plants (Pokrov, Marganets). Agreements on social partnership have been concluded between these enterprises and NMetAU, which provide for the training of specialists for the needs of customer enterprises and scientific and technical support of enterprises by teachers of the TTAMP Sub-faculty and NMetAU.

TTAMP Sub-faculty is proud of its teaching staff, which is traditionally represented by doctors and candidates of science who have a high scientific and pedagogical experience. The personnel potential of the department allows to provide training of qualified specialists in a wide range of areas and specializations. Among such areas the most important are "Metallurgy of ferrous metals, including electrometallurgy", "Processing of metals by pressure: rolling production; pipe production; design and computer support of technological processes", "Metallurgical equipment", "Mechanical engineering technology", "Automated control of technological processes and productions", "Automation of production processes and computer-integrated technologies", "Quality, standardization and certification".

Teachers of the TTAMP Sub-faculty use in the educational process modern technical means and methods of teaching (including distance learning), almost all taught disciplines are provided with methodological papers, textbooks and literature in electronic (digital) format.
