Prehistory. In 2001 the colleagues of the intellectual property department S.V. Antonenko and A.I. Mazurkevich received international certificates on Project Management. Taking into account the prospect of direction and workers'; sufficient qualification, it was decided to create the Project Management department under the direction of full professor V.V. Malyi.

History. In 2003 the department had passed licensing on the specialty "Project Management" and it was acknowledged as leading one on this specialty.

The official birthday of the department has become September 1, 2003, when teaching of the first group of masters degree candidates on the specialty "Project Management" began. The specialists on juridical questions also entered into the staff of the department.

In 2003 in the professional periodical "Project Management and Production Development" N 1 (6) had appeared the first scientific articles of the department colleagues, dedicated to the problems of Project Management.

The first masters of Project Management graduated in 2004. In summer of 2004 the head of the department V. V. Malyi received the international certificate.

In 2004 the department had passed licensing on the specialty "Administrative Management" and began training specialists on this specialty.

The first masters of this specialty graduated in 2005.

In 2010 the department received the accreditation certificate for training of masters on the specialties "Project Management" and "Administrative Management", valid until 2020.

Nowadays, in spring of 2007, the department consists of 14 lectures and 5 people of subsidiary personnel. 4 Doctors of Science, 5 Candidates of Science work in the department. 5 colleagues of the department have international certificates on Project Management. A significant quantity of colleagues of the department has professional rewards.

For the small period of time 21 masters of Project Management and 15 masters of Administrative Management were graduated by the department. New scientific works on the project management problems, administrative management, enterprises development and juridical questions are published regularly.

According to the results of the internal certification the department occupied the 3rd place at the academy, and its head V.V. Malyi was acknowledged as one of the best heads of the departments.
