Education, scientific degrees and titles.
In 1975 he graduated from the Ufa Aviation Institute. In 1979 he defended his PhD thesis on the improvement of technological processes honing the details of aircraft structures. From August 1981 to April 1985 he worked in SPA "Chermetmehanizatsiya" (Dnepropetrovsk). Since 1985 he worked as an associate professor, and since 1990 - Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering". In 1993 he defended his doctoral thesis on the specialty 05.02.08 - "Mechanical Engineering " on "Integrated models of machining technology systems", and in 1994 received a certificate of professor of "Mechanical Engineering". From 1999 - the founder and dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics DSEA. From 2003 to 2015 - vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work. Since 2015 - Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of DSEA.
Scientific activity.
The main scientific direction - the creation of special technological processes of processing of working surfaces of details and smart mobile technological machines.
Professor Kovalevskyy S.V. is the founder and scientific director of the laboratory of special methods of processing heavy engineering parts and Problem Laboratory of mobile intelligent production machines at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of National Academy of Sciences and the DSEA. Maintains close scientific cooperation with leading universities of Ukraine, Poland, Serbia. Croatia, USA. Professor Kovalevskyy SV. is a member of specialized councils for defending candidate and doctoral dissertations, a member of editorial boards, boards of several professional scientific publications, including - foreign policy committees of international conferences.
It has more than 750 print publications, including - 18 monographs, 90 textbooks and manuals, more than 60 patents for inventions.
