Brilliant victory of the Met.stal team in the case championship M.StudentChamp

The M.StudentChamp case championship, organized by the Metinvest group together with CASERS, ended with a brilliant victory of our young scientists. But this stunning victory was preceded by several months of careful preparation, teamwork and consultations with representatives of the company.
The case method (casestudy) was first used at the Harvard Business School in 1924 and proved to be not only an effective method of teaching students to solve specific practical problems, but also to stimulate talented young people to research and create such necessary "small towns" in the domestic economy. between the education and science system and business.

The M.StudentChamp case championship has been held for more than a year, but this year the geography of the championship has significantly expanded, which allowed more teams (106 teams from 3 cities) of different specialties from 25 free economic zones to take part in it. In particular, this year 11 teams from NMetAU took part in the case championship, of which 5 reached the semifinals, and only 1 - the team "Met.stal" of the Department of Steel Metallurgy. It is worth noting that "Met.stal" is the only team from the Free Economic Zone of Dnipropetrovsk region, which reached the final of the case championship!
The championship started in September last year, and in November in Zaporozhye it was inaugurated. From that moment, work began on projects with the support of mentors provided by companies to advise teams on practical issues. Also among the options available to the teams as part of the case studies was a trip to the plant to learn about the production process and to interview staff.
Due to the announcement of the quarantine, the final of the case championship took place online and was broadcast on the Metinvest page on Facebook and YouTube. Roman Andryukhin, a graduate student of the Department of Steel Metallurgy, presented the project on behalf of our finalist team and answered questions. The intrigue and intense anticipation lasted until the last moment for 6 hours of broadcasting.
