Scientific activities

The scientific topics of pre-war period, it should be noted the problem of roof control mining. In her study were carried out extensive experiments with the models that were tested on laboratory presses until fracture (A.N.Dinnik, G.L. Pavlenko, F.A. Belaenko). For the direct measurement of rock pressure, A.N.Dinnik and G.L. Pavlenko was designed a special dynamometer system, which subsequently received a significant distribution in the mines of the Donbass.Theoretical studies on the same topic held G.N.Savin, A.B.Morgaevskim, M.G.Kiselev.With the help of optical studies, the same problem was solved by L.G.Afendikov and M.P.Sheremetyevo.

Have been established zone of maximum stress concentration and the likely direction of crack propagation, solved the problem of stress distribution near the notches of different shapes, similar to the shape of the cross-sectional roadway or slaughter, with the construction of the distribution graphs of normal and shear stresses.
Was carried out a series of works on creation of methodologies for calculating rods and rod systems (A.N. Dinnik, D.B. Vol'per, N.P. Gryshkova).Of great importance was compiled under the guidance of A.N.Dinniki table of Bessel functions of fractional order (M.G. Kiselev). The results of these studies included many technical manuals and monographs published in the country and abroad. To clarify the properties of rocks and materials used in construction of metallurgical furnaces, N.P.Gryshkova and N.P.Kublanov were delivered extensive experiments to determine their elastic constants.N.P.Kublanov was also calculated the thermal stresses in the arches of open-hearth furnaces, which helped increase their resilience.

The Department also continued to develop the problem of the strength of wire ropes that are of great importance for the safe operation of the mines and metallurgical plants. Was out a series of experiments to determine the elastic modulus ropes of various constructions, as well as studied their services at the metallurgical plants of the country and developed standards.Great place for research should continue to be issues of stability of elastic systems (A.N. Dinnik, A. Penkov, V.P. Lyskov, N.P. Gryshkova).Solution to this problem is to consider differential equations of the 3 rd and 4 th order with variable coefficients. An efficient method for numerical integration of these equations was proposed by D.B.Vol'per.I.A.Kolesnikov and I.Y.Naumova built improved theory of plates and shells, suitable for all loads on the front surface.A reverse method of determining the coefficients of the refined theory for the core and contact problems. We formulate a correct statement of boundary value problems for plates and points in terms of contact interactions.A.V.Boxes and IAKolesnikov developed isoperimetric method for the study of oblique plates, membranes and sections.

One of the long tradition of the department is a close relationship with industrial enterprises and project organizations.Production workers to provide possible assistance. So in the recovery period after the war, railway bridges in Dnepropetrovsk A.B.Morgaevsky and D.B.Vol'per performed for Design Institute Ukrgipro-trans series of complex calculations of steel and reinforced concrete spans.Under the guidance of G.L.Pavlenko developed installation design stitched new ropes (A.I. Roslik, V.E. Yarovoy, A.I. Demchenko, G.F. Kravchenko) and the construction of a new rope grab (A.I.Roslik, V.E.Spring, A.I. Demchenko).

Considerable research on the development of engineering methods of calculation for strength, stability and vibration of sandwich plates and panels, and their introduction and practice of project organizations held U.V.  Mongers and V.V.Gaumont.V.V.Gaumont also covers the design and management of various types of metal structures engineering structures in steel and other enterprises.

Under the guidance of I.A.Kolesnik completed work on the study and improvement of metallurgical equipment: drum mixers aglotsehov; devices for removing gases from the converters (L.V. Frolova, E. N. Tsurkan) influence the status and mode of the main lines of the working stands of the rolling mills on the accuracy of rolling (A. Komarov, A. M. Puchalski); metallurgical cranes (V.A. Meschanitsky); heavy machinery metallurgical production (A.A. Vishnyak).

Together with the profile departments (PTE, OMD) performed work on research and develop new processes and equipment for the manufacture of homogeneous and bimetallic round and multifaceted distribution of pipe internal pressure; evaluation of residual strains in the rolling profile of the band; optimization of plates and sleeve roller drive chains (V. E. Spring, A.B. Morozov).

Employees of the department concerned with the problem of dynamic analysis of structures and facilities impacted moving loads. On this topic published over 200 works, protected by 2 doctoral dissertation, 8 kanditatskih theses.

The first works were published by Y.M.Tarasov (1958), A.B.Morgaevskim (1959), I.А.Kolesnikov (1960), V.M.Lvov (1963).In subsequent years, the problem receives its solution in the works of G.F.Kravchenko (1967), V.E.Spring (1968), A.G.Demyanenko (1974), CH.U.Imanhodzhaevym (1978), V.Y.Sambora (1982), T.Y.Radzikhovskyi (1982), N.V.Karyachenko (1994), A.P.Ivanova (1996).

Works Y.M.Tarasova devoted to the study of vibrations of the beam and some structural frames under the action of moving loads, and since 1959 the main focus of scientific activity A.B.Morgaevskogo began studying the action of moving loads on structural elements.

In the works of I.A.Kolesnik received research vibrations of beams, combined systems, frames, gruzotransportiruyuschih systems.Vibrations of sandwich plates and shells in geometrically and physically nonlinear formulation, carrying a moving load, is devoted to the work of I.A.Kolesnikov and CH.U.Imanhodzhaeva (1970 - 1980).

New topics in the scientific activity of faculty associated with the studies undertaken by Prof. V.M. Akhundov and under his leadership (Head of Department since 2004).Subjects of these studies apply to such areas as: mechanics of composite materials and media at large strains, body rotation of homogeneous and elastic fiber-reinforced materials, modeling of elastic-visco-plastic materials and media at large strains.

K. f.-m.n, Assoc.I.U. Naumova currently engaged in developing a training manual on strength of materials for students of all disciplines of full-time and part-time forms of training. She has published articles on the "Contact problems of plates and shells" (2006), and also features an article in the interregional collection "System Technology" on "multi-layer plate.During the last three years (2003 - 2006) published an article PhD, Assoc.A.P. Ivanova, related to problems of dynamic loading mechanisms of cranes, as well as articles on the topic of her thesis "Dynamics of frame systems under the action of moving loads.

Participation in the IV International scientific-practical conference "Actual problems of solid mechanics" (2006), which took place in Melekino (Donetsk reg.), Has a graduate student T.A.Skripochka (supervisor tf .- m. n. Professor V.M. Akhundov), introducing the article "Analysis of torsion of a homogeneous and elastic fibers-reinforced cylinders.Articles e. f.-m.Mr., prof.V.M.Akhundov co-authored with graduate student Skripochka T.A. - "Tension, swelling and coaxial torsion of homogeneous and elastic fibers reinforced cylinders" and "Tension, swelling, and the axial shift of homogeneous and elastic fibers reinforced cylinders" - published in the Official Gazette of the Donetsk University "(2006).

Regularly conducted scientific seminars on structural mechanics, solid mechanics, which describes the new research.
