Menshykov Vasiliy A.

Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Senior Research Fellow, Head of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics, Machine Engineering and Robotics at the Kharkov Aviation Institute (National Aerospace University).

Graduated from the Power Mechanical Engineering Faculty at Kharkov Polytechnic Institute in 1977 and from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty at Kharkov State University in 1983. In 1988 he was awarded a Candidate of Technical Sciences Degree (PhD) at Kharkov Aviation Institute and in 2009 – a Doctor of Sciences Degree (DSc) in Physics and Mathematics at the S.P. Timoshenko Institute of Mechanics (scientific consultant –academician of the NAS of Ukraine Guz A.N.).

Since 1981 Dr Menshykov has been working at the Kharkov Aviation Institute (National Aerospace University), Head of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics, Machine Engineering and Robotics (since 2014). In 2011 he was elected to the National Committee of Ukraine on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.

Dr Menshykov authored (co-authored) 80+ scientific publications. His main research interests are in aerodynamics of turbine blades, dynamic processes in engineering materials with cracks.
