Student Olympiad QForm-2019
In April 2019 on the basis of the Metal Forming department National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine will take place the annual Ukrainian stage of the international student competition in technological preparation of manufacturing, forging and extrusion. Events will be held simultaneously in several technical universities around the world in the form of a network (distributed) Olympiad.

The competition between students will consist of the following parts: students participating will receive drawings of the axisymmetric part after machining and will have to design the part for hot stamping and the shape of the tool for the final forging, and then determine the necessary technological process for its manufacture. The final stage of the report is the mathematical modeling of the proposed forging process. The simulation will be performed in the QForm software to evaluate and validate the developed technology.
The developed technology will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- calculation of the drawing details of hot stamping;
- justification of the developed technology of bulk forging;
- efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed technology are based on the results of modeling in QForm. Optimally designed technology should not be defective, completely fill the deforming tool, consist of the minimum number of technological chains with high forging efficiency and high efficiency costs.
Assistance in preparation: to prepare for the Olympics, universities that have submitted applications (and which do not have a modern software version - QForm VX) will receive a free network license of the said software for 3 workplaces up to three months, which can be activated at any time, but no later than a month before the start of the Olympics. Along with the license, methodical materials for studying software will be provided.
